Opportunity to meet with PC(USA) International Mission Interpreter Rev. Paula Cooper – August 6, 2019

Rev. Paula Cooper, regional liaison for East Central Africa, facilitates PC(USA) relationships with partner churches and institutions in Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda and Zambia, where the church is growing rapidly and pastoral training and leadership development are of major concern. She describes her leadership style as one that “deliberately works toward developing a culture that values a collaboration of God’s people and their gifts for ministry.”

Rev. Cooper will be available to interact with pastors and lay mission leaders of Newton Presbytery’s congregations on Tuesday, August 6, at gatherings being hosted at 2 of Newton’s churches as follows:

First Presbyterian Church of Blairstown (Outreach Center) – 1:15pm

35 Main Street, Blairstown, NJ 07825

and

Presbyterian Church of Morristown (Parish House) – 7:15pm

65 South Street, Morristown, NJ 07960

Rev. Anita Hendrix, Transitional Pastor for the Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church (Rev. Cooper’s host for a 6-day visit) will co-host the gatherings with Rev. Harold Johnson, Coordinator for the Newton-Nairobi Partnership Team. After Rev. Johnson’s brief updating of the N-NP’s mission activities, Cooper will share the multiple benefits to be gained by congregations engaging in international Christian relationships.

RSVP: The hosts request that those who plan to attend one of the events indicate so with an email to hejboonton@optonline.net or text to 862-812-0595 that adequate refreshments and materials be prepared for each of the gatherings.
