#6000000

The goal was set in January that we could reach 70% of the US adults vaccinated by July 4th. We did not reach that goal but have come remarkably close.  So many of us are looking forward to celebrating this holiday in person with loved ones and friends.

As we celebrate with friends and family let us remember that this virus has taken many we love, and they are not here to celebrate with us.

We all have lost a loved one or know someone who has died because of the COVID virus. In the United States over 600,000 people have died from COVID. Worldwide close to 4 million people have been lost to the virus.

This weekend as we celebrate that we are not spending another holiday in lockdown, take some time to reflect and remember those who we have lost this last year and half.

Prayer

Creator of the whole family in heaven and on earth, we remember those who have been lost to this virus. Stand by those who sorrow, that, as they lean on your strength, they may be upheld, and believe the good news of the life beyond life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
