ACC Orientation & Retreat Recap | Many Pieces, One Body – January 2026
Administration and Coordinating Commission
The Administration and Coordinating Commission gathered recently for a retreat focused on grounding our shared work and strengthening clarity about how the ACC serves the Presbytery of the Highlands. It was a thoughtful, engaging time marked by honest conversation, creativity, and growing trust.
The retreat opened with Scripture, dwelling in 1 Corinthians 12:12–27 and the image of one body with many members. As reflections were shared, a common understanding emerged: God arranges the body as God chooses, with no hierarchy of value. Every part matters, every voice belongs, and the health of the whole depends on honoring each member.
The day then moved into hands-on work using LEGO bricks to explore the purpose and function of the ACC. Models took shape showing foundations, connections, tension points, and places of collaboration. Some pieces fit easily, while others required patience and creativity, offering a helpful reminder that coordination and communication are often challenging, even when the mission is shared.
