Presbytery of Highlands beginning organizational structure documents, policies and guidelines
The Presbytery of the Highlands Transitional Manual of Operations to be voted on March 16
As we move into becoming a new presbytery, we need basic and mandated documents, policies, and bylaws to assist us in our organizational structure.
The Technical Team made up of elders and pastors from the previous presbyteries have been meeting and compiling, from all four presbyteries, the needed documents for our beginning development as a community. The Manual of Operations is not necessarily on printed handbook of all the documents but instead a collection of the structural pieces for the operation of the presbytery.
At our first meeting of the Presbytery of the Highlands, The Synod Commission for NJ Missional Structures will be calling the presbytery into order and we will approve the transitional documents. Following the first meeting we will continue to add to the Manual of Operations.
Over this next year the Transitional Team will engage the presbytery in a discernment process to determine where God is calling us in mission and ministry as a new community. Following that process we will then review our Manual of Operations and adapted, change or whatever is needed, the documents to match our vision and mission.
We know that ZOOM meetings format sometimes makes it hard to ask a question or to get the moderators attention. In order that all questions and comments about the documents are heard and answered, we are asking that you please review the documents before the presbytery meeting on March 16 and use the comments and Question box below to ask a question, make a comment or point out a needed edit such as wrong name, grammatical or spelling errors.
All questions will be answered at the presbytery meeting. Any errors will be corrected prior to the meeting. Please keep coming back to this page to check for new material. We are still learning from the Synod Administrative Commission what needs to be presented.
