When Can we Reenter?
When can we “re Open” our church? Let us remember we never closed. We have continued to be the church during this pandemic.
The question instead is, “When can we gather together in our church buildings?”
Reentry will not be as easy as turning on the lights and gathering for worship. COVID 19 is still with us and continues to be a highly infectious illness. We cannot just open the doors because we are tired of being at home. There are many things that must be considered before it is safe for our faith communities to gather in the church building.
The Presbytery Coordinating Team has established a ReEntry Team who has been developing guidelines and gathering information to inform and educate us on what is needed to safely gather again.
The Team will be hosting TWO ZOOM gatherings to discuss these guidelines, the State of New Jersey mandates and guidance and the Presbytery of Newton’s requirements for Reentry into our buildings.
The gatherings will be for two members of your congregation. We are suggesting that it be someone who plans worship (such as the pastor) and someone who has oversight of the property (such as the property team moderator or a session member). Each gathering will cover the same information, so you only need to attend once.
