Security Plans for Places of Worship
A New Jersey law passed in November 2022 requires places of worship that seat more than 500 people to have security plans to prevent violent attacks. These plans must be approved by the police. ( include a link to the NJ information about this)
Jim Kirk, Associate for Disaster Response for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance has provided the church information about the Nonprofit Security Grant Program. This grant application has many requirements and documentation. However, according to Jim Kirk, many PCUSA congregations have received this grant. For grant program information click here.
