Annual Boundary Training Workshop
October 21, 2021 – 9am to 3:30 pm
via ZOOM
Purpose:
- To increase awareness of the daily pressures you live with
- To explore the nature of the power differentials between pastor and parishioner
- To “safeguard your call” from litigations and accusations
- To explore how to maintain appropriate ministerial relationships.
- To keep people from being hurt (both you and others)
- To provide guidelines for dealing with complex issues where the right thing is not always clear.
Participants:
- All Pastors in active service or participating on Pulpit supply list are mandated to participate every three years
- Non clergy Presbytery Officers encouraged to participate
- Inquirers and Candidates under care invited
- Church staff are invited to join the workshop
Workshop Leader
Michelle Snyder, consultant and facilitator, with Crows Feet Consulting.
Michelle Snyder is the managing consultant of Crows Feet Consulting. With training in theology, systems theory, and organizational intelligence, she brings a unique perspective to her consulting work with middle judicatories, congregations, nonprofits, and clergy. Michelle has co-authored the book Life, Death and Reinvention: The Gift of the Impossibly Messed-Up Life and collaborated with Russ on his most recent book, Front Door Back Door. When Michelle is not coaching and consulting, she does suicide prevention training for faith communities and spends time at home in Pittsburgh with her husband and two daughters.

- This year the workshop is hosted by The Presbytery of the Highlands.
