Prayer for The Third Sunday in Advent

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.  Philippians 4:4

The third Sunday of Advent we light the Joy candle.  Even though the 22 months have been rough and at times dark, there has always been light and joy.  It might have shown up in the little things of a flowering garden or a smile on a zoom screen or relief of getting a booster shot.  On this Sunday of Joy reflect on those small moments of joy and light and share that story with another.

Let us pray:

Almighty God, you have made us and all things to be in ministry with you. Now prepare our hearts and minds and strength to share light and joy to a world that at times appears dark.  Come quickly so that your children may live in pace, honoring one another with justice and love, through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
