Prayer for the Graduating Class of 2022
Blair Academy, Blairstown, NJ was founded by Presbyterian Elder John Blair in 1848. Blair Academy has had a strong relationship with the Presbytery of Newton, and now Presbytery of the Highlands for 174 years. First Presbyterian Church of Blairstown each year provides several special worship experiences to the students. Three members of the Presbytery serve on the Blair Academy Board of Trustees.

Blair Academy’s 174th Commencement Exercises
O God of love and God of life, who wills for us to affirm a love for life and for living,
For the beauty and blessing of this season in their lives; for the provision today of
temperate warmth, cloudy but not too cloudy skies, adequate sunshine and
rainfall, we give you our thanks and praise.
We are grateful today for each graduate and their families, for the love they
share together and the promise the graduates offer the world at this milestone,
of their lives.
We are grateful for the love and the joy each student has found here and has shared here; for wit acquired, wisdom shared, for awe and wonder experienced here at Blair, we give you thanks and praise.
May the memories and moments of their time here be for them: life-giving, life-affirming, joy-generating, and laughter-evoking.
May the lessons learned here, connections created here, community formed here, and curiosity acquired here follow them where life leads them next. May the voice they discovered here and learned to claim here remain with them as they prepare to enter a new chapter of their lives.
And now, O God, bless each student of Blair Academy’s Class of 2022 as they prepare to embark from here; May they lead and live a life that embraces kindness, compassion, and the pursuit of justice; may their lives be defined by humble confidence, and filled with endless hours of love and laughter, of hard work and the satisfaction of working hard. Grant them grace and goodness all their days. In your beautiful and precious name. Amen.
