Prayer for Care of Creation

The skies were orange a few weeks ago. Today as I write, they are hazy once again. A reminder that the wildfires of Canada and the changing climate of our planet.

God calls us to be better than good stewards of creation.  As disciples   our  responsibilities include doing all that we can to care for God’s creation.

There are lots of resources available.  Here are 12 ways people of faith are taking environmental action.

Let us pray;

God of creation, we give thanks for the goodness of the earth that you made and sustain. We pray for this creation. We give thanks for this earth, our partner in your service. Move us to hear your voice in the song of the sparrow, to see your face reflected in the river.  Empower us to hear your prophets in the sounds of the evening frogs, and to read your gospel in the web writing of spiders. Guide us in ways we where we are part of the healing of the earth and restoration of your creation.  Let the peace of Christ rule throughout  the world. Amen.
