Dear Presbytery of the Highlands,

June 1 to July 20 I will be on  Sabbatical Part 2.  Last year I did the first six weeks of the renewal time  and this year I am now doing the next six weeks (plus a week at General Assembly).

While on sabbatical I will not be checking emails or responding to phone calls related to the presbytery.  Nor will I be on social media ( I need a sabbatical from that also). I will be reviewing the emails upon my return.  However if you need a response earlier than July 22, please resend the email to either Steve Shussett – steves@highlandspresbyterynj.org or Sonja -office@highlandspresbyterynj.org .

My sabbatical time will include a trip to Newfoundland, Canada to watch and photograph icebergs, from Greenland, flow past the shores. We will also be doing whale and bird watch tours. Mostly it is about retreating to a quiet place where time slows down.  We will also attend the plenary session of the General Assembly in Salt Lake City followed by a trip to Boise, Idaho and from there, a trip to Andrew Seed Co., in Oregon to visit the garden center of my favorite gardening youtuber. (Gardenanswer.com). I also plan to write, read, garden and play with my grandson.

During this time the Presbytery Staff and others will be (as always) available to assist and resource the pastors, church leaders and congregations of our presbytery. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Steve Shussett.
