Holy one, you are comfort and strength
in times of sudden disaster, crisis, and chaos.
Surround the people of Southern California with
your grace and peace as they live through the horrific
fires that are racing across the hills and valleys destroying
home, forests, businesses and people’s lives.
By your Spirit, lift up those who are battling the flames,
sustain them in their work to contain and extinguish the fires.
Comfort those who have lost their homes and livelihoods.
Guide the helpers to provide comfort and hope as thousands
find ways to rebuild and restore.
Through Jesus Christ, we lift up our prayers. Amen.
PDA needs your financial assistance
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance needs your financial help.
The Southern California Fires have destroyed large portions of several communities.
At this time it is known that Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church has been destroyed. Multiple churches have been impacted and multiple Presbyterians have lost their homes.
According to Jim Kirk, PDA Associate for National Disaster Response, PDA has been in communication with three affected presbyteries. The impact of the fires is yet to be determined.
