Church Officer and Leadership Training

Ambassadors for Christ

Church Leaders as Spiritual Leaders

March 20 and 27 from 7-8:30PM via Zoom

Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path that sinners tread
or sit in the seat of scoffers, but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on God’s law they meditate day and night. They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither ~Psalm 1:1-3

To be a church leader is not simply a matter of ordination or committee role, but to be a spiritual presence. What the church needs — what the world needs — are leaders in the church who live out of the reality that God is present, powerful, and active among us. How can we be open to the Spirit’s leading, open and available to be Christ’s hands and heart in God’s world?

In this workshop participants will learn of the discipleship required for Christian leadership, and how that is made real in the life of a congregation. It will cover the basics of church leadership and the bigger picture of being a Christian leader.

It is open to those in ordered ministries (elders, deacons, and pastors), all church leaders (committee chairs and members, or anyone to whom people turn), and all those interested in Christian leadership and spirituality.
