Welcome Zayn Silva – Communications Coordinator for the Presbytery

Introducing Our New Communications Coordinator: Zayn Silva

The Administration and Coordinating Commission is delighted to welcome Zayn Silva as the new Communications Coordinator for the Presbytery of the Highlands.

Zayn brings deep experience in digital ministry, strategic communications, and community engagement. He currently serves as Associate Digital Minister and Director of Communications at Middle Collegiate Church, where he leads digital innovation, crisis response, and multi-platform storytelling. Within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Zayn is a ruling elder at First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn, a member of the Presbytery of New York City’s Commission on Ministry, and a national servant-leader through the ACQ+E Committee. He was a commissioner to the 226th General Assembly, served on the General Assembly Entity Committee, and was recently elected to the Permanent Judicial Commission of the Synod of the Northeast.

A committed advocate for social justice, Zayn has been honored by Stonewall for his leadership in New York City and is widely recognized as one of the city’s leading queer lay leaders. His writing appears in Presbyterian Outlook and in devotional reflections for Unbound.

Zayn worked for seven years as an Apple Genius, later becoming Head of IT at Kickstarter. He also partnered with Yelp and led women-in-tech cohorts focused on mobile app design and development.

We are grateful for the gifts Zayn brings to the Presbytery of the Highlands and look forward to the creativity, clarity, and connection he will help cultivate within our presbytery community.
