#400,000  Let us pray…

On Wednesday we reached 400,000 deaths identified as COVID related. Those are the ones that have been verified. The number is higher.

Though there appears to be a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel and vaccines are slowly rolling out we still live in uncertainty, grief and heartbreak.

Words cannot describe the grief, sorrow and pain of people, people we know and love. Our hearts ache and our eyes tear up as we reflect on that number.

Let us pray,

God of our life, whose presence sustains us in every circumstance, we seek the grounding power of your live and compassion. We open our hearts in anger, sorrow, and hope; for those who lives have been forever changed. May they find solace, sustenance, and strength in the days to come.

We are grieving. We ask for courage, for strength and presence to provide comfort for those who are lost, deep in their grief.

We know there is always hope. Open our eyes, hearts to that hope and to the movement of your Holy Spirit who walks with us through these dark days. We are not alone.
