The seasons are changing. We can feel it in the air as the cool mornings of spring shift to the warm days of summer.  Even though summer is not official for a few more weeks, the coming and going of Memorial Day supports the hopes that summer is finally here.  This year the coming of summer season coincides with the liturgical season of Pentecost, also known as Ordinary Time.

There is nothing ordinary about the Pentecost Season in 2021.

The Pandemic Season appears to be waning and the new post pandemic season is just around the corner.  We continue to stand at the threshold, the liminal season,  of letting go of the past days and seasons and reaching out and discerning the next season.

Let us pray for the Changing of the seasons

God of creation,
By your spirit awaken us to the changing of the seasons,
the season that call us out to enjoy your creation,
the season that calls us to pause and rest,
the season that calls us to grieve and mourn,
the season that calls us to discern the new reality.

God of the future,
By your spirit hold us strong in the post pandemic world.
The season is changing in very unfamiliar and uncertain ways.
Stand with us as we take those unclear steps forward.
Continue to walk with us and nudge us further into the unknown.
