Prayer for Spring

the days of darkness and winter evolve into days of light and spring.  As we approach the coming of spring, we can feel our hearts lifted by the warmth of the longer days of sun and the emerging of the spring bulbs with glimpses of color.

Yet we continue to hear news of war, of people being hungry, of new variants of COVID and we feel the pull of the darkness.  Let us pray for the sustaining light of God’s hope that is with us in the dark of days of winter and the in the news of the world.

Let us pray:

Gracious God, your hope and love has broken into our troubled world through the life, death, and resurrection of your Son. You sent your Son to be the light that we need all times and especially in times of darkness.  As Christ shines upon us, may we feel your presence and live in all truth and goodness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, now and forever.  Amen.
