Prayer for the end of World Hunger

Around the Northern Hemisphere the earth is awaken to spring. Soon it will be time to plant and grow the food the world needs.

The Ukraine and Russia combined provide 30% of the world’s wheat, 20% corn and 80% of the world’s sunflower oil.  With the war keeping farmers in Ukraine from planting and Russia unable to export, the world is heading towards widespread hunger and in some regions, famine.

Let us pray that the world does not see more hunger and famine.

Gracious God, the world is once again facing worldwide food shortages and more hunger.

As the war continues in Ukraine, the threats of farmers not able to plant the spring crops is very real. Much of the world depends on those crops and produces of that region.

Make us instruments of peace. Let us be the peace that allows us to look at others through Christ’s eyes and guide us toward the vision of a world free from war, violence, and hunger.

 Make us instruments of peace. A peace that calls us to action to feed the world. Guide us in ways to where we can be part of feeding the world. Help us spread the miracle of loaves and fishes whether it be in our local region or worldwide.
