11 For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.

Jeremiah 29: 11 (NRSV)

This is the season of graduations.  Many of our graduates have spent their last two plus years struggling and striving  to learn in a pandemic environment.  They begin their next phase of life and education facing a world that has changed. Let us pray for our graduates as they face their future.

Gracious God,

New beginnings are everywhere in the spring. New growth, new birth and new journeys. We lift all who are graduating this spring.  We pray that they feel the release of studies, even if it is temporary, that they feel the sun on their face and that they feel the hope that you promise all of us.

As we come through a time where hope got mixed in with chaos, confusion, anger, joy, exhaustion and sometime despair. May our graduates see and feel strongly the hope that is promised in the words of Jeremiah and in the experience of the resurrection and the joy of the coming of the Holy Spirit.

Keep them safe along the path. If they stumble guide them and us in ways to support and encourage them in this life that is so full of promise and adventure.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
