Prayer

The prayer comes this week from Rev. Hannah Faye Allred, Kitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church, East Hanover

Heavenly God, what a gift it is to be your servant.

Merciful God, what a heavy lift it is to be human.

You have unchained us from the ways of this world,

where value is measured by what we can produce,

our importance calculated by net worth.

You have not only shown us that we are important and valuable,

You have shown us we are loved, we are cherished, we are enough,

exactly as we are.

Forgive us when we believe the world instead.

Purify our intentions and become our only motivation.

Let our actions build bridges, diffuse tensions, mend hearts, and open minds.

Embolden us to be your gracious and just-filled children.

Remind us of your presence. You never pass us over.

Redeem us, God. Over and over again.

Amen.
